Mother that is always on the go It not summertime so no sand. We put balls in it. Just as fun!
A Mom's Take My oldest three boys, ages 2 to 6, have all really enjoyed playing with the sandbox. The sandbox isn't too large to take up a ton of space in our backyard but still has lots of room for play. I like the built-in spots to sit so they don't have to sit directly on the sand if they don't want to. I really appreciate that a plastic lid is included to keep out bugs, rain, dirt, etc. Having a sandbox cover that is large also lets us keep all the sand toys right in the sandbox so they are ready for play and cleanup is a breeze!Thank you to Step2 for letting me test drive this item as part of the Step2 Test Drive Blogger program.
NewlyCrunchyMamaOf3 My toddlers love this sandbox! It offers them plenty of room to play together, and even has built in seating. The sandbox is also pretty lightweight, so it can be moved from indoors to out with very little problem. (As long as it's empty, of course!) I love the lid since it keeps bugs, moisture, and stray cats and other critters away. This sandbox can be used with traditional sand, or you can use rice, shredded paper, noodles, or anything else that can offer kids a great sensory experience. Try it with the Step2 Sand-tastic accessories! My kids love making castles, bulldozing and scooping, and filling the little buckets and cups. Leanne I was a little worried about adding a sandbox to our backyard thinking that it would eat up all the "play space" but I loved that this sandbox was compact but still big enough to be fun. The little seats on each corner are probably my favorite feature as they allow the kids to play without actually having to sit in the sand (if they hate sand on them like my son does) but it also give more room to play!
Grammie My 3 year old grandsons face lights up when I ask him if he wants to play in his sandbox. Its the perfect size for him, giving him plenty of room to squish his toes in the sand among the sand toys. The cover fits snuggly and keeps out the rain and small animals. The little corner seats help to keep his clothes out of damp sand.
wendybrando I could not be happier with this sandbox. It is just the right size for my 18 month old grandbaby. The seats in the corners are a nice touch. The lid is a nice feature to keep the sand clean. I suggest putting a sand bucket filled with a bit of sand on top of the lid just to make sure it does not blow away though. Very happy with this purchase!
Jajsmom This was a gift for my 2 yr old. I wanted something he could sit in and play. Big enough for him and his brother to do so. I like that it has a cover, though I wish it were a little more durable. Afraid it could crack easily. Hasn't rained yet, so don't know if it will leak.So far so good. Only used about a week now.
GG This was a gift for my one year old grandson and he loves it. His mom filled it with balls to begin with so he could play during the winter months and now that it is warmer it has now become a sand box. We are now purchasing a Step 2 pool with umbrella. Great toys for children.
Unhappy grandma Bought this for my grandkids. Looked at the dimensions of several on the market and, by those given, thought this would be small enough to keep up but large enough for at least 2 at a time to play but it isn't. I guess if they were 2 or 3 more might fit in but at 4 and 5 only one can play at a time. There just isn't enough room so it caused fights and I had to get rid of it.
